Making Mom’s job easier with Arctic® apples

A mom's job is never done, but feeding her kids healthy food that tastes great is always a top priority - we want to make that job even easier with nonbrowning Arctic® apples!

Everyone knows how picky kids can be, but mothers won't have to worry about them turning up their noses at bruised apples or brown slices with Arctic apples. Instead, apples that would've ended up in the trash will end up in their bellies and everyone ends up a little healthier and happier!Daughter feeding Mom an apple slice

Food blogger and busy mom Melanie Mendelson (a.k.a. "Melanie Cooks") agrees that the number one trick to getting her three kids to eat their apples - slice 'em up! In her experience, "nobody is going to take the whole apple from the fruit basket and eat it randomly. If you don’t cut the apples into slices, the apple will just rot untouched." Sadly, this is all-too-common; apples are among the most wasted foods on the planet.

Melanie is right on about sliced apples being a consumption trigger, too, as kids are proven to eat more apples, and waste less, when they’re served pre-sliced. Fellow Mommy blogger Sarah Schultz (a.k.a. Nurse Loves Farmer) often serves her kids pre-sliced apples, but runs into another common challenge. Her three year old "often grazes when he’s snacking, so sure enough within 15 minutes or less his apple slices start to brown and he won’t eat them."

With Arctics, though, browning will never be an issue - all you need to do is slice and serve (or store and serve later)! There isn’t even a need to mess around with lemon juice, costing money, time, and adding a sour off-taste to the fruit - while only slowing browning, not really stopping it!

Plus, busy moms can all use a bit more convenience for themselves as well as their kids. Sarah points out another great benefit of nonbrowning apple versatility, "I’m going to be WAY more likely to cut up apples for myself for work or to put in a salad."

So, eating more apples with less fuss will soon be as easy as pie. And that reminds us, Mom’s apple pie will be even easier with Arctic apples too!
