A post-Valentine’s heart-to-heart on apples

Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but doing what’s best for our hearts should absolutely be a priority all year long. And, eating plenty of apples is one way we can take good care of our tickers!

Scientists have shown that snacking on apples may help to reduce the risk of heart disease. In fact, researchers from Oxford University estimated that eating an apple a day could reduce the risk of heart disease by 40%. And their study showed that participants who ate fruit only a few times a week still had the benefit of significantly lower rates of cardiovascular disease than those who skipped out on fruit.

Apple consumption has also been linked to lower cholesterol and greater success maintaining a healthy weight. That’s great news not only for our waistlines, but also for overall health because good weight control can also help to reduce the risk of developing diabetes and certain types of cancers.

With so many reasons to munch on apples, it’s clear that they’re fantastic for our bodies as well as our taste buds. Arctic® apples also make eating plenty of apples easier than ever thanks to the Arctic Advantage™!
