Halloween is definitely a favorite in our house – the kids get so excited about picking out their costumes, carving pumpkins, and decorating with spooky decorations. And of course, the thing they look forward to the most is filling an entire pillowcase full of candy! It’s a hard time of year dealing with all that sugar but there are still plenty of ways to sneak some fruit into your spooky celebrations.
- Don’t let pumpkins have all the fun! This year try carving a different type of fruit. We’re partial to carving Arctic® apples around here but other fruits like pineapples are quickly becoming trendy this year as well.
- Good old-fashioned games like bobbing for apples are always a hit with kids if you’re hosting a Halloween get together after trick-or-treating!
- It’s a busy night but I still try and find the time to feed the kids a healthy dinner before we head out trick-or-treating. Making dinner Halloween-themed always adds to the fun of the night. Try making roasted sweet potatoes in the shape of pumpkins, spaghetti brains, or check out our Healthy Halloween Pinterest board for more inspiration.
- Candy apples are a great Halloween treat alternative for all those classroom parties. Our Double Dipper Arctic® Apple Pops can be decorated any way you want for Halloween!
