Say hello to Arctic® apple fro-yo!

One of our mottos at Okanagan Specialty Fruits is “more apples in more places” and we think the latest creation we’ve come up with is a particularly “cool” way to do just that – Arctic® apple frozen yogurt!

Arctic Frozen Yogurt in blenderWe’ve frozen or dried most of our precious remaining 2015 supply of Arctic® apples so that we can enjoy a little here and there year round. But, we couldn’t help dipping into our stash sooner rather than later! Earlier this month, we put some of our frozen Arctic® Goldens and Arctic® Granny apple cubes to use in trying out some frozen yogurt recipes.

After a bit of trial and tasting, we identified a winning recipe:

  • 2 cups of frozen Arctic® apple cubes (whichever variety you prefer!)
  • 1 cup of plain low-fat yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons of sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional for extra sweetness)

And, of course, no lemon juice is needed to prevent browning, meaning no curdling of the dairy ingredients. Arctic® apple fro-yo is another great example of a delicious way to enjoy apples that simply wouldn’t be possible without the Arctic Advantage™!
